Sammie Ray is a dynamic actress, singer-songwriter, and storyteller born and bred in sunny Pasadena, California. A proud alum of Temple City High School (Class of 2014), she had already performed in more than 25 theatrical productions before turning 18, alongside countless choir concerts, dance showcases, and cheer competitions.
With Hollywood in her backyard, Sammie entered the industry early—training on set in background roles before quickly leveling up to recurring co-star and guest appearances on hit series such as This Is Us (NBC) and On My Block (Netflix).
In 2023, she broke out with Savage Sam—a fiery, autobiographical tale of feminine resilience that she wrote, produced, and starred in. The short swept the festival circuit, winning over 10 awards and surpassing 300,000 views on YouTube. A multidisciplinary artist, Sammie also created the film’s original soundtrack, blending her singer-songwriter roots with cinematic storytelling. The project is now expanding into her first feature film, currently in pre-production.
In 2025, Sammie booked one of her most thrilling television roles to date as Mariah in Season 5 of Tyler Perry’s Ruthless (BET+). She has also made a strong mark in the vertical streaming space, starring in Secrets of Sin, My Sister’s Wedding, Straight A Pregnancy, and Love Me Two Times. Her song “Dirty Little Secret,” first featured in Secrets of Sin 2, is now available on all major platforms.

Up next, Sammie makes her feature film lead debut in A Sudden Family, a SAG production slated for release in 2026. Musically, she continues carving her own lane with bold releases like “Bitch On Top” and the "Lover Girl Gone Savage" lyric video, both available now.
In January 2026, Sammie launched a new YouTube series, This Is NOT A Podcast, where she reflects on life, faith, creativity, and healing by sharing 10 lessons learned at the end of each week—an honest, evolving diary of growth in real time.
Beyond the spotlight, Sammie is passionate about mental health, faith, and empowerment. She openly shares her love for Jesus, advocates for self-care and fitness, and—as a certified Pilates instructor—offers 45-minute sessions through her company, Take40Five.
